Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Edmund C. & Rita M. JezercakWasheleski. He attended Fell High School, Simpson. He received training as a heavy He had been a member of St. Michael’s Church, Simpson and enjoyed operatinghis C.B. radio. He was a member of Hallstead Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 357. He is survived by a brother: Edmund J. Washeleski, Simpson; a sister Amelia and her husband Richard Daniels, Simpson; three nephews: Gary & Richard Daniels Jr; John Washeleski and a niece Darlene Daniels. The funeral will be Wednesday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass at 9:30 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 46 Midland St Simpson, to be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Sitko, Pastor. Interment with military services by V.F.W. Post 4712, Simpson in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 5 to 8 Pm.
Louis J. Scombordi
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Patsy & Genevieve Tiscia Scombordi. He was a graduate of West Scranton High School and had been employed by the U.S. Postal service for 37 years. He was the Superintendent of Postal Operations in Carbondale and later the postmaster in Archbald. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale where he was a former Senior Warden. He attended Deaconate training in the Episcopal Church for the Diocese of Bethlehem. He was also a Youth Minister and Camp Director for the Bethlehem Diocese. He was the founder of the Carbondale Food Pantry located at the Trinity Church and was the cook for many area church benefits. He was also a former member of the Carbondale Kiwanis Club. He was an early member of the Citizens for a Better Carbondale. He enjoyed cooking for groups and his family and was a Santa helper in the area. He was a great Dad and fun loving grandfather. Also surviving are Katie Lee Scombordi, at home; Doctors Brandy and her husband Rajeev Raghu; Amy Lee Sterling; a step daughter: Shannon and her husband Ryan Flynn; Louis and his wife Patty Scombordi; Michael and his wife Bette Scombordi; Stepson Sean and his wife Kim Hogan, Stepsons: Jim and Ryan Hogan; a brother John and his wife Sherry Scombordi; and daughters Lynn and Diane; ten grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The Funeral Liturgy will be Friday with services at 10 AM in the Trinity Episcopal Church, River St. Carbondale by the Rev. Don Schaible, Rector.

Tx; Rafe and his wife Patti and Trea Bowell, Wimberly, TX; Gabrielle

Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Norman W. and Doris Elizabeth Phillips Parry. She graduated Benjamin Franklin high School and had been employed by the Carbondale garment industry. She later had been employed by Mack Printing Co., E. Stroudsburg for 20 years. She was a beloved aunt who will be missed. Surviving are several nieces and nephews including Pamela Grecco, her caregiver and Charles Stair, a brother in law. She was preceded in death by six brothers: Glenn, Edmund, Ronald, William, David and James and three sisters: Gwenith A. Parry, Doris E. Stair and Bonnie Griffin. She was the daughter of the late Walter & Margaret Brady Szymaszek. She was a graduate of St. Rose School in 1940. Before retiring, she was employed by the Mayfield Dress Co. for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She volunteered for many years for the Carbondale Senior Citizens. She became of lifetime member of the Johnson City, NY The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. P. McAndrew, Dr. M. Hanley, She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. All her children’s friends would call her “MA”. Raymond P. Kielar, 71, of Simpson died Tuesday at Marian Community Hospital,
After, returning from+ duty, he returned home, to further help his father and raise his own family. During the next twenty years he started several business ventures, attended Penn State and served on the Vocational – Technical Crafts Committee. He was a man of many talents. There was nothing he could not build, fix or create and did whatever was needed. A man who believed in helping others, whatever it took. He was a true humanitarian. After the passing of his father he continued with the business his father establish in 1931. He operated the business for fifty years. He enjoyed various interests including dancing, music, singing, waterskiing, snowmobiling and computers. Later in life he enjoyed fishing, a family favorite. He touched many lives and was a loyal son and a good father. We as his loving family ,will always be proud to call him father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed, but will never be forgotten. He is survived by four daughters: Phyllis and Charles Gongliewski, Simpson; Carolyn and Matthew Durkin, Jermyn; Deborah and James Graham, Jermyn; Deniece Gruse, He was preceded in death by a sister: Evelyn. John J. Dembrosky, Sr 91, formerly of Simpson died Sunday at the Forest City Nursing Center. His wife the former, Kathryn D. Klimek, died in 2002. Born in Dickson City, he was the son of the late John & Julia Dembrosky. He was a coal miner and later was employed by the Gentex Corp., of Simpson. He was a member of St. Michael’s Church, Simpson.
