Mary T. Burnis November 18, 2008 Mary Theresa Burnis, 88, of Simpson died Tuesday at the Forest City Nursing Home. She was the widow of Joseph M. Burnis, who died in July. Born in Simpson, she was the daughter of the late George & Anna Repescak Gornick. She was a 1939 graduate of Fell High School, Simpson. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church, Simpson; Fell Township Golden Age Club and enjoyed puzzles, baking and listening to music of the 40’s & 50’s. She is survived by a son: Jim Burnis and his wife Kyle, Golden Canyon, AZ; a daughter Irene and her husband Jim Pisarcik, Conyngham; two grandchildren: Debbie and David, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph, John and Frank. A private funeral Mass will be held in St. Michael’s Church, Simpson by the Rev. Joseph S Sitko, Pastor. Interment in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Forest City. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice 851 Commerce Blvd., Dickson City. Mary Debish November 14, 2008 Mary Debish, 95, of Carbondale died Friday night at home. She was the widow of Edward Debish, who died in 1987. Born in Simpson, she was the daughter of the late Michael & Anna Kaczmerik Harkenreader. She was a graduate of the Hoyt School of Practical Nursing and through her life also worked in the Carbondale Area garment industry and Mike Molinaro’s grocery store on the Carbondale viaduct. She was a member of St. Michael’s Parish and a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Guild, Simpson. Mary was always concerned about others and would welcome them into her home for a meal. She enjoyed helping in the pierogie project for the church block parties. The family would like to thank the nurses from Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their kind and compassionate care. Walter J. Wagner November 12, 2008 Walter J. Wagner, 67, of Browndale and formerly of Carbondale died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital Hospice Unit. Born in South Canaan, son of the late Carol Wagner he was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. He was retired from Hanson Aggregate Co., Lake Ariel. He was a very generous to his family and friends and will be remembered for his smile. William F. Kresock November 8, 2008 William F. Kresock, 82, of Simpson died Saturday at home. He and his wife, the former Christine M. Marcavage had been married for 56 years. Born in Carbondale, son of the late William & Anna Palko Kresock, Sr. He was a graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale and served in the Navy during WWII. He retired from General Electric Co. after 25 years of service as a Quality Control Inspector. He was a member of St. Michael’s Parish and the Holy Name Society. A member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Walter Paciga Post #4712, all of Simpson. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed gardening and cooking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather who will be missed. The family would like to thank Home Health Care Professionals for their compassionate services. Anna Rose Munley October 14, 2008 Anna Rose Munley, 88, of Carbondale died Tuesday peacefully after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Clair Michael Munley her husband for 67 years. Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Anna Mangan Moffitt. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and was very devout in her catholic faith. Anna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed deeply by her entire family. She is survived by two sons: Wayne and his wife Norita; Kevin and his wife Patricia; A daughter: Karen and Leonard Dragwa; two brothers: Charles and Edward Moffitt; eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mary Ann Farley October 11, 2008 Mary Ann Farley, 71, of Elk Lake (Waymart) and Richmondale died Saturday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was the wife of Joseph Farley, Sr; the couple had been married for 53 years. Born in Carbondale and raised in Forest City, she was the daughter of the late Walter & Mary Nebzydoski Lavendowski. She was a graduate of Forest City High School, class of 1955 and the Lackawanna County Area Vocational Technical School Practical Nursing Program. She had been employed as a Practical Nurse and a teacher’s aid for the Northeast Intermediate Unit working with autistic children. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church; Queen Mother of Small Town Red Hatters Chapter of Red Hat Ladies; Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians; YMCA Excerise Ladies Group; all of Carbondale. She enjoyed reading and was a regular at the Carbondale Public Library. Mary Ann loved sharing holidays with her family, especially Christmas where she would decorate three Christmas Trees. She will be remembered for her famous pies, mainly apple and was always decorating her home for the seasons. She is also survived by four children and their spouses: Joseph & Bonnie Farley, Moosic Lakes; Colleen & Craig Fries, Wrighter Lake; Charles & Maria Farley, Fogelsville; Mary & Larry Mell; Mt. Born in New York city, daughter of the late Leonard and Marion Doras Rouilliard. She was educated in the Forest City School District. Prior to retirement, she worked in the advertising business. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Jessup. Joyce had many artistic abilities and enjoyed spending time on-line playing games and chatting with friends. She was a loving and caring person who will be missed by many. Dorothy L. Fletcher September 25, 2008 Dorothy L. Fletcher, 86, of Forest City died Thursday afternoon at the home of her daughter Linda, surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Walter H. Fletcher who died August 17, 1985. Born September 28, 1921 in Carbondale, daughter of the late A. Harry & Esther Ehrhardt Pellett. She was a 1939graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and Scranton Lackawanna College. She retired from Weston Instruments, Archbald. She resided in Waymart for 34 years before moving to Forest City in 1985. She was a member of the Clifford United Methodist Church and a 55 year member and Past Matron of Laurel chapter Order of Eastern Star, Waymart. She was a former member of the Mt. View Senior Citizens, Clifford; Senior Citizen Center, Lenoxville and also Tri- County Seniors, Forest City where she enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She also enjoyed visiting the residents at the Forest City Nursing and Personal Care Homes. She was a charter member of the WWII Memorial Society and an avid sports fan of the Phillies, Eagles and 76er’s. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and soon to be great-grandmother. She loved her family very much and on Thursday she went to be with her true love Walter, whom she missed dearly. She truly loved the Lord and never missed a day without reading her bible and saying her daily prayers. She will be deeply missed by all, especially by her beloved children and grandchildren to whom she dedicated her life. We love you Mom and you will always be with us. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Perkin, Beach Lake; and Linda and her husband John Demianovich, Forest City; two granddaughters: Kira and her husband Mark Holeva and Tara Demianovich both of Forest City. Mary Premock Lyons September 23, 2008 Mary Premock Lyons, 87, of Carbondale died Tuesday at the Carbondale Nursing Home. She was the widow of George Lyons, who died in 1985. Born in Simpson, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Martha Rushnock Premock. She was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson. Prior to her retirement she was employed in several Carbondale Area Dress Factories. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the ladies auxiliary of Marian Community Hospital, both of Carbondale. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed cooking. She was a kind and generous person to her family and friends. Anna & Helen would like to thank the staff of the Carbondale Nursing Home, Dr. Bekele, and the Social Service Department for their kindness not only to Mary but to both of us. Our special thanks to Michele Cawley and the aids of Southern Care Hospice who treated Mary with so much love and respect. Walter A. Zelosko September 23, 2008 Walter A. Zelosko, 91, of Simpson died Tuesday at Community Medical Center, Scranton. He was the first born of George & Kathryn Banach Zelosko, on June 5, 1917 in Simpson. He attended Fell School and graduated from the vo-tech program under the G.I. service training act. He served during WWII in 29th division, Company A, 115th Infantry as a Rifleman & Message Runner at Omaha Beach, Normandy and D-Day. He received the Purple Heart, European-African- Middle Eastern Service medal with three bronze stars, one bronze arrowhead. He also received the American Defense Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge and the Good Conduct Medal. Upon returning from the service he was employed at State Asphalt, Simpson and worked in construction trades in New York. He served for 34 years as sexton and custodian of St. Michael’s Church, Simpson. He was a member of St. Michael’s Church, the Holy Name Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars Walter Paciga Post #4712 and a charter member of the former Simpson Lion’s Club; all of Simpson. Leo-Cerra Chapter #98, Disabled American Veterans, Carbondale; Silver Spring Maryland Post #94, 29th Division Association, Inc. Born in Simpson, she was the daughter of the late Samuel & Amelia Wanko Kitik. She was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson. She and her husband had operated Steve’s Gulf Station at Lake Wallenpaupack for many years prior to his death. She was a member of St. Basil’s Russian Orthodox Church, Simpson. She is survived by a sister: Mary Kitik, Simpson and nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by two brothers: Samuel Jr. and Nicholas. PAUL BEBLA SEPTEMBER 12, 2008 Paul Bebla, 75, of Vandling, and formerly of Simpson, died Friday, at Osprey Ridge Healthcare Center, Carbondale, after a courageous battle with diabetes and heart disease. His wife of 21 years is the former Jean LaVerne Curtis, Richmondale. Born July 4, 1933, in Simpson, son of the late Michael and Mary Egnotovich Bebla, he was a graduate of Fell High School, Class of 1951. He earned a B.S. degree from the University of Scranton in1956 and a M.S. degree in 1960. He completed graduate credits at Penn State University and Temple University. He began his educational career in 1956 at the Walkill Central School in Walkill, NY as a secondary mathematics teacher. In 1957 he moved to the Preston Township School District at Lakewood, PA. In 1959 he became principal of that school and taught 3 classes per day as well as attending to his administrative duties. In 1966 he accepted the position of elementary supervisor at the Forest City Regional School District and in 1968 became assistant superintendent. In 1972 he joined the staff of the Northeastern Educational Intermediate Unit where he served as Director of Nonpublic School Services until 1974 when he was appointed assistant executive director. In 1986 he became executive director and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1990. He is a member of the University of Scranton Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa. His whole life he was an avid New York Yankees fan. He was a member of the Simpson Booster Club, which sponsored Little League and Sunday Amateur Baseball. He was a past president of the Booster Club and Mountain Baseball League. He is a member of the Grattan Singer Hose Company, Simpson and a lifetime member of the Forest City Lions Club. He also served as secretary of the Simpson Chamber of Commerce for many years. Surviving are his sister, Dorothy Ann Bebla, Simpson, and 2 aunts. Also 3 stepsons: Richard, Leonard and Ronald Curtis, Forest City, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Paul was a lifelong member of SS. John Kolcun September 10, 2008 John Kolcun, 86, of Simpson died Wednesday at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. His wife, the former Victoria A. Jackovitz died in 2003. Born in Simpson, he was the son of the late Michael & Mary Shebes Kolcun. He was educated in Fell Township Schools and was a member of the Civil Conservation Corp. He served in the Army during WW II. Where he attended the Nuremberg War Trials in 1946. He had worked for many years with his brother Michael at Uneeda Glass Co., Carbondale. He was a member of St. Basil’s Russian Orthodox Church, Simpson and the D.A.V. Chapter # 98, Carbondale. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening especially his flowers and his cats at home. His first wife, Florence McHale Lesniewski died in 1982. Born in Simpson, he was the son of the late Chester & Stella Lesofsky Lesniewski. He was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson and attended Penn State University graduating from the University of Scranton. He served in the Army and was stationed in England and was also a member of Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He had been employed as a supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare Offices in Scranton and Carbondale. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Community of Forest City, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Paciga Post #4712, Simpson and the American Legion Post, Carbondale. He was a former president of the Cottrell Lake Association and the Carbondale Area Touchdown Club. He was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Frank was a collector of many different types of tools, gadget and clocks. When family and friends needed any type of tool they called him. He was a loving and cherished husband, dad and grandfather who will be missed. He was an avid gardener and accomplished handyman. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was well respected by many. He was an elevator inspector for the General Services Administration in Washington, D.C. He was the inspector at the White House from 1969 until 1978. Duane was the fourth person to pass the National Elevators Inspectors Examination and was the elevator foreman at the National Security Agency, Ft. Mead, MD. He was a member of the Board of National Elevator authority, Phoenix, AZ and was a Member of the National Elevator Code Executive Committee. Frederick M. willis, 94, of Mayfield and formerly of Carbondale died Wednesday at the home of his daughter in Justus. His wife of 59 years,the former Beatrice Mittan, preceded in death. Born March 25, 1914 in Mountain Top, he was the son of the late Frederick H. and Ellen Johnson willis. He attended Carbondale Schools. He was a member of the Peckville Assembly of God Church where he sang in the choir. He was the last surviving Trolley Car Driver from the Scranton Transit System. He retired from C.O.L.T.S. Bus System in 1972. He then went on to drive bus for Lakeland School District. He also worked for Ames, Kmart and last at Wal-Mart, Dickson City for 13 years until he officially retired at the age of 92 1/2. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather,brother and friend, who displayed his integrity, charity, spirituality, generosity and love to all who were blessed to know him. After his great love for God, he was an avid fan of baseball and boxing. His true passion was for music, he was actively involved over the years in the Welsh Choir. He enjoyed entertaining with his beautiful tenor voice. He always shared words of encouragement and was quick with his smile and infectious laughter. Fred passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He wil be missed by his family, friends and church community. A life member of the Paciga VFW Post #4712, Simpson; he was a past president of the Carbondale Lion's Club and was treasurer for 25 years of Area P Special Olympics. Russell Wowk, 90, of Simpson died Saturday at Mercy Hospital, Scranton. His wife is the former Olga Zrowka. Born in Wilkes-barre, he was the son of the late Nicholas & Anastasia Ptychin Wowk. He was a graduate of Nanticoke High School , class of 1936. He was an army veteran of WWII, serving in the Battle of the bulge. He was an interpreter for the American Forces. He was employed as the manager of the Carbondale Big Chief and Giant Markets. He was also a music teacher at Fell High School, Simpson. He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Greek Catholic Church, Simpson where he was a very dedicated member. Russell served for 65 years as cantor and choir director. He taught religious instruction and Russian. He was the founder and chief fundraiser for the St. George Choral Club; he directed Ukrainian Dance Club. He also directed the combined choirs of Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, Olyphant and Simpson when they preformed for Bishop Klonowski. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and served on the church committee. He was a member of St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church, where he was active in the committees; a member of the Walter Paciga VFW Post #4712, Simpson; Grattan-Singer Hose Co. #1, Simpson; the Eureka Royal Arch Lodge Masonic Order # 179, Carbondale and a former member of Mark's Golf League. Kibbers enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, golfing and trips to Atlantic City. He took pride in his nieces and nephews. Bernard J. Willis, M.D. April 18, 2008 Bernard J. “Bud” Willis, of Whites Crossing died April 18, 2008 at Mercy Hospice after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was the beloved husband of Ellen Kiefer Willis. Bernard was a true gentleman with an enormous heart full of strength, wisdom and the utmost compassion for those dearest in his life. His gentle manner and calming presence were just two of the many reasons he was such a joy to be around. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who were blessed to have him in their lives but he will never be forgotten. Bernard was born in 1922, in Chinchilla; son of the late William R. & Claire Mc Greevy Willis who died shortly after his birth. Bud was raised by his father, whom he loved dearly and his step-grandmother Winfred Ruane Willis and her sister Ann “Nanny” Carden. He graduated from St. Paul’s School in Green Ridge & was a choirboy at St. Paul’s Church. After graduating from the University of Scranton he attended Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University, Chicago. Dr. Willis and his fellow students enlisted in the Army as Privates First Class and were commissioned upon graduation. After an internship at Scranton State General Hospital he became a Captain and Flight Surgeon with the 8th Air Force, 27th Station Medical Group. Dr. Willis practiced general medicine in Scranton, Psychiatry at Farview State Hospital, Waymart as Clinical Director and Tri County Human Services. He retired after 50 years of practice. For his tireless work during the 1972 Agnes Flood, Dr. Willis received the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Meritorious Service Medal. He was a volunteer for Area P Special Olympics, the American Red Cross; past president of the Pennsylvania State Physicians Association; was a member of the Lackawanna Medical Society; the American Psychiatric Association, the American Legion and was a Building Authority Member with the construction of the Western Wayne School and member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He and his wife Ellen traveled all over the world. They were pilots and loved to fly their Stinson Voyager. The family would like to thank Dr. Neal Davis and his staff for their years of caring for Dr. Willis with dignity and respect; the Forest City Nursing Center; The Gino Merli Veterans Center; the Mercy Hospital Sixth Floor Staff and Mercy Hospice for the kind and professional care he received. Surviving are his children from his first marriage to Margaret Tillman Willis: Margaret Tusko, Portland, OR; Carolyn and her husband Jack Zechman, Herndon, VA; Susan Willis, Wilmington, NC; Christopher Willis and his wife Jennifer, Cincinnati, OH; Ellen and her husband John Mote, Wilmington, NC; a stepson Edward J. He was a wonderful grandfather whose 15 grandchildren gave him much joy and great devotion, they are: Christine Zechman Brown and husband Kieth; Emily Zechman and friend Peter McCarthy; Aaron & David Tusko; Evan & Katelyn Mote; Eric & Daniel Willis; Anessa, Ashley, Lauren and Kiefer Enslin; Sarah, Michael and Mark Striefsky. Louis J. Scombordi, 66, of Carbondale died Monday at home. His wife is the former, Peggy Slugg. His first wife, the former Jeannie Nolan died in 1997. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Patsy & Genevieve Tiscia Scombordi. He was a graduate of West Scranton High School and had been employed by the U.S. Postal service for 37 years. He was the Superintendent of Postal Operations in Carbondale and later the postmaster in Archbald. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale where he was a former Senior Warden. He attended Deaconate training in the Episcopal Church for the Diocese of Bethlehem. He was also a Youth Minister and Camp Director for the Bethlehem Diocese. He was the founder of the Carbondale Food Pantry located at the Trinity Church and was the cook for many area church benefits. He was also a former member of the Carbondale Kiwanis Club. He was an early member of the Citizens for a Better Carbondale. He enjoyed cooking for groups and his family and was a Santa helper in the area. He was a great Dad and fun loving grandfather. Sandra M. Dovin, 43, of Forest City died Friday at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Her husband is Robert Dovin, the couple had been married for 26 years. Born in Peckville, she was the daughter of John & Ann Ksiazek Syryla, Olyphant. She was a graduate of Mid Valley High School and had been employed as a courier for Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. Sandra enjoyed vacations with her family and cruising. She is additionally survived by a daughter: Lisa Dovin, Carbondale; three brothers: John, Magnolia, Del; Stanley, Scranton; Joseph, Danbury, Ct; two sisters: Lora Syryla, North Charleston, SC; Joann Syryla-Guida, Jessup; a granddaughter: Emily, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a sister: Nancy Syryla. Michael Senica, 89, formerly of Simpson died Saturday at the Gino Merli Northeast Veterans Center, Scranton. His wife, the former Estelle Ziemba died in 1996. Born in Simpson, he was the son of the late John & Anna Honchak Senica. He attended Fell High School and was an Army Veteran of WW II, serving as a Staff Sergeant with the Air Corps. He was later employed by Northwest Airlines, Trans-Caribbean Airlines, and Curtis-Wright of Woodbridge, NJ. He retired from Farview State Hospital, Waymart. He was a member of St. Basil’s Russian Orthodox Church, Simpson and the Tri-County Sportsmen Association. He is survived by three sisters: Ester Telep, Mayfield; Dorothy Genoni, Carlstat, NJ and Anna Senica, Simpson, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Julia Oleson, Helen Gerstlauer and Mary Garbrino. The funeral will be Tuesday with a Requiem Service at 9:30 AM in St. Basil’s Russian Orthodox Church, 33 Midland St, Simpson by the Very Rev. Archpriest David Hritcko. Steven J. Zimowski, 45, of Union Dale died Saturday at the Robert Packard Hospital, Sayre. Born in Jamaica, Queens,NY; he was the son of the late Frank J. & Dolores Nilsson Zimowski. He owned and operated Steve’s Slate Roofing, Union Dale and had been a slate roofer for over 27 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by two daughters: Nicole and her husband Donald Snedeker, Union Dale; Naoma J. Jacqueline H. Warrington, 69, of Scranton died Monday at the Mountain Rest Nursing Home. Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late John N. & Ethel Gavitt Kiefer Jr. She was a 1956 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School and graduated first in her class of Eastern Airline Flight Attendant School, Miami Springs, Fl. She was a member of the Berean Baptist Church, Carbondale; where she had attended Sunday School and was a former Choir member. She had been an avid ballroom dancer. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed. She is survived by two sons: Clayton L. and his wife Linda Warrington, Royersford; John N. Warrington, Fairfax, Va; a sister: Sandra and her husband William Lee, Greenfield Twp., a granddaughter Alexandra and nieces and nephews. Mary “Laskowsky” Chervanka, 85, a lifelong resident of Carbondale died Thursday night under the care of Southern Comfort Hospice at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. She was the widow of Frank Laskowsky, who died in 1964 and Joseph Chervanka. She was the daughter of the late Walter & Margaret Brady Szymaszek. She was a graduate of St. Rose School in 1940. Before retiring, she was employed by the Mayfield Dress Co. for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She volunteered for many years for the Carbondale Senior Citizens. She became of lifetime member of the Johnson City, NY Ladies Auxiliary VFW #2332, I 1989; a member of the South Side Clippers Association before it disbanded and was treasurer of the Carbondale DAV Ladies Auxiliary for many years. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. P. McAndrew, Dr. M. Hanley, Dr. M. Hyzinski, Southern Care Hospice, the Staff of Marian Community Hospital and the Revolutionary Care Nurses for their care and compassion. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. All her children’s friends would call her “MA”. She wore her heart on her sleeve and cared deeply for others and was always there to lend a hand when needed. She enjoyed her monthly trips to Atlantic City and Mohegan Sun. She was a great bingo fan. She is survived by four daughters: Patricia Bujake, Carbondale; Joan and husband John Gorel, Forest City; Alicia and husband Silvio Carlo, Carbondale; Shawne and husband Bruce Barresse, Uniondale; eight grandchildren John Paul Gorel and fiance’ Katrina Mrakovich, Jamie Lee Gorel and fiance’ Adam White, Jennifer Gorle and William Hebner, Damien Carlo and Theresa Grecco, D’Nean and Laura Carlo, Cody and Monique Barrese. Five great-grandchildren Julia and John Thomas Gorel, Liam John Hebner, Taylor White, Gianna Rose Carlo. A brother Joseph Szymaszek and his wife Stasia, Carbondale, nieces, nephews and cousins especially her cousin Stella Brady who was also her best friend, travel companion and helper. She was preceded in death by twin granddaughters: Trisha and Tara Laskowsky. Raymond P. Kielar, 71, of Simpson died Tuesday at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. Born on June 25, 1936 in Simpson he was the son of the late Peter M. & Leona Pepson Kielar. He attended Fell High School and was an altar boy at St. Michael’s Church. As the years followed he helped his father establish their automotive and body shop , Kielar’s Garage. Then he joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War. After, returning from+ duty, he returned home, to further help his father and raise his own family. During the next twenty years he started several business ventures, attended Penn State and served on the Vocational – Technical Crafts Committee. He was a man of many talents. There was nothing he could not build, fix or create and did whatever was needed. A man who believed in helping others, whatever it took. He was a true humanitarian. After the passing of his father he continued with the business his father establish in 1931. He operated the business for fifty years. He enjoyed various interests including dancing, music, singing, waterskiing, snowmobiling and computers. Later in life he enjoyed fishing, a family favorite. He touched many lives and was a loyal son and a good father. We as his loving family ,will always be proud to call him father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed, but will never be forgotten. He is survived by four daughters: Phyllis and Charles Gongliewski, Simpson; Carolyn and Matthew Durkin, Jermyn; Deborah and James Graham, Jermyn; Deniece Gruse, Alexandria, Va; two sons: Jason and his wife Marie, Denver, Co; Joseph and Teri, Lillian, AL; a brother: Jerome and his wife Muriel, Prompton; six grandchildren: Sarah, Samatha, Jeffrey, Alexis, Joseph, Jolyn, a niece and nephew Jennifer and Jeffrey.
