Types of Services:
Traditional Funeral-is a funeral where the body is generally present. This may be in either an open or closed casket and the visitation can be public or private for the family. Many times the visitation is held at the funeral home the day prior to the service. Services may be held in a place of worship or at the funeral home. Some families choose to combine the visitation and service all in one day. The deceased is most commonly buried or entombed after the service.

Cremation refers to a process in the disposition of the deceased. Many times cremation can follow the choices noted above in the traditional funeral; however the final step would be the cremation process. Direct Cremation is one where the deceased is held at the funeral home for 24 hours then cremation takes place. There is not a viewing of the deceased. This may be followed by a Memorial service at the funeral home, church or other location. In many cases the family gathers at the cemetery for a service and burial of the cremains.

Gravesite Service-is a gathering at a cemetery where either a casket or urn is interred with family and friends present. Many times this includes a short religious service.
