Adam J. Lutchko, 79, of Carbondale died Sunday at Regional Hospital of Scranton following a long battle of illness. His wife of 54 years, the former Theresa V. Boland, died September 5, 2014.

Born in Simpson, he was the son of the late Adam and Rose Gorel Lutchko. He was a graduate of Fell High School, Class of 1957, Simpson. Adam was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Carbondale. Before retiring, he was employed at West Lake United, Mayfield. He had also been employed for 17 years at the Hendrick Manufacturing Company, Carbondale. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union

Adam enjoyed doing little odd and end jobs around his home, watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up, watching NASCAR, and football. He loved to spend time with his family and facetiming with his granddaughter and great grandchildren.  He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed and always loved.

Surviving are three sons, John A. Lutchko and wife Deanna, Mayfield, Adam D. Lutchko and wife Maria, Olyphant, Stephen W. Lutchko, Simpson, a daughter, Theresa M. Lutchko, Carbondale, seven grandchildren, Jason, Derek, Amanda, Samantha, Daria, Katlyn and Adam and four great grandchildren, Evan, Aubrey, Parker and Auryana, two sisters, Dolores Lutchko and Dorothy Van Nort, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc. 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Interment will be in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 pm.
