Edward S. Latwinski Jr., 82, of Clifford died Thursday at home. His wife and true love, the former Sonia Shachko who died in 2013.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Edward & Sadie Sydlosky Latwinski. Edward was an Army veteran serving 3 years. He was a master mechanic and in 1980, he opened up a one car garage which he ran on his own for many years.  Eventually it became Pine Hurst Auto a multi-car garage where he worked side by side with his son Dennis and grandson Matt.  Ed enjoyed the daily hustle and bustle at the garage and seeing customers and pleasant conversations with “the regulars”.

He also found pleasure in fishing, gardening, mowing the lawn, sitting on the porch to soak up the sun and watching his grandson race. Ed was a race car driver in the modified class for 14 years. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is survived by four sons, Dennis Latwinski and wife Helen, Nicholson, Jerry Latwinski and companion, Teri Brewer, Clifford,  Edward Latwinski III,Nicholson , Ronald Latwinski and wife Tammy, Kingsley, two sisters, Janette Evans, Maryland, Carol Goldsmith, Kingsley and a brother, Richard, Kingsley,  six grandchildren, four  great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christina Voorheis.

The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 AM in the Elkdale Baptist Church, 45 Route 2014, West Clifford with services by Pastor Frank Bissol. Interment will be in Willow View Cemetery, Clifford. Friends may call Monday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
