Frances T. Lescinski, 91, of Simpson died Saturday at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy E. Lescinski who died in 1994.

Born in Albany New York, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Eva Solek Matuszek. She attended school and worked in Albany prior to moving to Simpson where she raised her family and was employed by Waymart Knitwear until her retirement. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church, St. Rose Parish.

Frances could often be found reading or doing crossword puzzles while enjoying her favorite snack – Hershey’s Chocolate. She was a loving and giving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who treasured spending time with her family.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wayne Woodlands for the excellent care and personal attention their mom received while there.

She is survived by her three children, Linda Lescinski, Simpson, Thaddeus Lescinski and wife Carol, Waymart, Mary and husband John Moody, Simpson and six grandchildren, Cathleen Williams, Meredith Wilson, Lydia Wagner, Susanna Gonzalez, Kathryn and Timothy Lescinski, six great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Grace, Silas, Titus, Caroline and Lily, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother Michael Matuszek and seven sisters, Sr. Luciana, Agnes Matuszek, Dorothy Morawski, Stasia Stepien, Julia Wajda, Angeline DeRusso and Elizabeth Stefanick.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 46 Midland St., Simpson. Interment will be in St Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 8 AM to 9 AM.
