Ronna U. Salansky, 79, of Lenoxville died Saturday evening at the Carbondale Nursing Center. She was the widow of George Salansky who died in 2003.

Born in Royal (Clifford Township), she was the daughter of the late Ronald & Ethel Hinkley Updyke. Ronna was a graduate of Harford High School, Robert Packard School of Nursing and St. Joseph’s College, Maine, where she received her Bachelors of Healthcare Administration. She was a registered nurse at Carbondale General Hospital and retiring from Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale.

She was a devote catholic and member of St. John Vianney Parish/ St. Pius X Church, Royal and the Robert Packard Nurses Alumni Association. Ronna enjoyed flower gardening and especially loved spending time with her family simply reminiscing. She was a caregiver at heart whether it was a family member or friend Ronna was there.

Ronna is survived by her three children and their spouses, Donald & Deborah Salansky, Scott Township; Mark & Theresa Salansky, Lenoxville and Kimberly & Gregory Kerr, Vero Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Nicole, Lindsey, Brian, Nathaniel and Maressa; four great grandchildren, Julian, Dahlia, Sebastian and Alena and  a sister, Joye Hamblen, Hernando, Fl, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday, April 8th at 2:00 PM in St. Pius X Church, Route 106, Royal by the Rev. Michael Kirwin, Pastor.  Interment will be in Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.   Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St., Simpson.
