Theresa M. Luczkovich, 87, of Carbondale died Tuesday at the Creekside Nursing Center, Carbondale. She is the wife of Michael Luczkovich. The couple had celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in January.

Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late John & Isabelle Sporer Crogan. She attended Carbondale Public Schools. Theresa had been employed as a cook and for 25 years was employed by St. Joseph’s Hospital, Carbondale. She was a member of St. Basil’s Orthodox Church in America, Simpson.

Theresa is also survived by six children, Janette and husband Gary Wowk, Carbondale, Joanne and husband Ronald Schmidt, Scranton, June Smith, Blakely, Joyce Luczkovich and Michael McGuckin, Sandstone, VA, John Luczkovich and wife Mary, Carbondale, Jane Saltisak and Dr. Michael Gleeson, Archbald, eleven grandchildren, Nicholas, Charles, Jillian, Danielle, Jessica, John, Jennifer, Julie, Matthew, Marjean and Mariah, thrre great grandchildren, Graysen, Elliott and Hayden, a brother Richard Crogan, Carbondale and a sister Marie Comstock, Lockport, NY , nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Julie Luczkovich and Jean Browning, a grandson Michael Browning and siblings Michael & Robert Crogan, Joseph Chellino, Christine Lavelle and Joanne Crogan.

The funeral will be Friday at 10:00 AM in St. Basil’s Orthodox Church in America, 9 Lord Avenue, Simpson with service by the Very Rev. Archpriest John Kowalczyk. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 Pm at the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St., Simpson.  Bright Week Easter Canon Service will be at 7:00 PM.
