Andrew Bebla, Jr, 81, of Vandling died Tuesday morning at home. His wife, the former Emily Kost died in 2020.

Born in Simpson, he was the son of the late Andrew (Shieky) and Julia Pavelchak Bebla. He was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson and attended Penn State University.  Andy served in the Army.

Andy retired from S.C.I., Waymart as a corrections officer and had been employed prior by Farview State Hospital.  He was a member of St. John’s Byzantine Church, Forest City and American Legion Post #221.

Throughout his life, Andy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to so many. He enjoyed taking trips to the casino, homemade chocolate éclair desserts, $20 scratch offs and cold Miller Lite.  His dog Daisy was his pride and joy, sticking by his side each and every day.

Andy is survived by two sons, Bryan and Kevin, a daughter in law, Janet Bebla, all of Vandling, a sister, Louise Franks and husband Ronald, Simpson,  six grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Andrew N. Bebla.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 46 Midland St., Simpson by the Rev. Patrick Albert. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Richmondale.
