Anthony J. Kluck, 78, a former Simpson resident passed peacefully surrounded by his cherished friends and family at Allied Service Residential Unit, Scranton, on September 9, 2026.

Anthony was born in Simpson, son of the late Anthony S. and Anne Semon Kluck.  Anthony was a member of St. Michael’s Church, Simpson, now Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale.

Anthony was born into this world with extra challenges but still found a way to brighten everyone’s day.  He attended Special Education programs in Lackawanna County and was one of the first students enrolled in the special needs classrooms.  He always loved his schools and the ‘kids’ that he met there.

Anthony loved rainbows and thunderstorms. One of his favorite songs was “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”.  He especially loved to tease everyone  on April Fools Day  with the sentence,  “There’s a bug on your face!”.   It was music and especially polkas that made him smile.  He is now dancing and singing to his favorite Polkas in heaven.

Anthony is survived by his brother, Joe Kluck and wife Mary, Simpson, a niece, Emily Kluck and a nephew, Joseph Kluck, and cousins.

Anthony’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff and caring angels of Allied Services, who watched over him for so many years. They gave him much love and care and brought him comfort, happiness, and joy.

The funeral will be Saturday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Simpson.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit on Saturday from 9:30 AM until 10:30 Am at the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc. 621 Main St. Simpson.    www.scotchlasfuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Allied Services Foundation. Attention: Peggy Ford 100 Abington Executive Park, Scranton PA  18411.
