Obituaries » Basil Pavelchak, Jr September 21, 1931 - May 23, 2025 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Basil Pavelchak Jr., 93, of Vienna, VA passed away peacefully on Friday. His wife of 59 years is the former Lorraine Moore. Born in Simpson, he was the son of the late Basil & Gertrude Bundas Pavelchak. He was a graduate of Fell High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. He later was employed as a communications specialist for the U.S. government and after retiring, worked as a U.S. government contractor. Basil is also survived by his two daughters and their spouses; Laura and Andrew Horn, Houston, TX, and Lynn and Christopher Otto, Oakton, VA; as well as four grandchildren, Kayleigh and Nathan Horn and Jack and Grant Otto. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Pavelchak. The funeral will be Saturday, May 31st at 11:00 AM in St. Basil’s Orthodox Church, 9 Lord Avenue, Simpson with services by the Rev. Jason Franchak. Interment will follow at St. Basil’s Cemetery, Simpson. Family and friends may visit on Saturday at the church from 10 AM until 11 AM.
