It is with great sadness that the family announce the unexpected passing of Brian Edwards, 51, of Cherry Ridge Township on Wednesday. He was the husband of the former Tina M. Morgan and they would have celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on July 4th. He was also a loving father to his daughter and light of his life,  Jenna Edwards who resides at home when not away at college.

Born in Scranton he was the son of Gerald Edwards of South Canaan and Rosemary Butler Maconeghy  of Moscow . Brian attended the Western Wayne School District and served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. Brian was employed by Nick’s Excavating . Prior to that he was employed by Leeward Construction.

He enjoyed hunting and family camping trips to Otter Lake and Pocono Raceway. He will be deeply missed .

Brian is survived by his daughter , Jenna Edwards at home , sisters Amy VanLeuven of South Canaan and Sherry Pontosky of Throop and a brother Jeremy Edwards of South Canaan , his grandmother Marjorie Edwards of South Canaan , best friend Charlie Ramos of Carbondale , aunts, uncles,  nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may visit on Monday from 5 to 7 PM at the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson. A funeral service will be at 7:00 PM by Pastor James Sheridan of the Hollisterville Baptist Church, military honors will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Road, Honesdale, PA. 18431.
