Carl  R.  Emmett, 75, of Simpson died Sunday at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. His wife is the former Marie Galinsky, the couple had celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary in May.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Ralph & Mildred Barnes Emmett. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and served in the Army during the Viet Nam Era.  He had retired from Thompson Consumer Electronics, Dunmore.

Carl was a member of the Moxie Club, Carbondale and the American Legion Post #665, Dickson City. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Carl was a loving husband, father and grandfather who adored his grandchildren.

He is also survived by a son Jeffrey Emmett and wife Dawn, Simpson, two daughters, Carla and husband Mark Barney, Simpson, Michele and husband Jay Bianchi, Archbald, two brothers and their wives, William Emmett and Beverly, Kirkwood, NY and Gordon Emmett and Ann, Florida, six grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Bryanna, Nicholas, Nathan and Ryan, nieces and nephews.

A Blessing Service will be conducted Wednesday at  11: 00 AM  in the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc  621 Main St., Simpson.  Entombment in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.  Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM.
