Daniel “Dinky” Kresock, 85, of Simpson died unexpectedly Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. His wife of 61 years is the former Mary Kluck.
Born in Whites Crossing, he was the son of the late William & Anna Palko Kresock. He was a 1947 graduate of St. Rose Academy and attended Penn State University. He served as a corporal in the Army during the Korean War and was then employed for 22 years by General Electric Co., Johnson City, NY. Dan had also been employed as a driver for Weidner’s Carbondale Redi- Mix Co.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Church/ St Rose Parish, Simpson and the Holy Name Society. Dan was a member and past president and secretary for the Scrub Oak Hunting Lodge, Hawley. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 4712 and the Golden Age Club of Fell Township. He was a great fisherman, hunter and enjoyed golf and traveling.
Dan is also survived by six children and their spouses, Daniel and Pamela, Vandling; David and Christine, Randolph Center, VT; Diane and Gary Kohut, Carbondale; Deborah and Richard Rogler, Nineveh, NY; Donna and George Tenedios, Lewisburg; Denise and Jesse Nawrocki, Annadale, NJ; a sister, Anna Gardus, Whites Crossing; 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Joseph and William and two sisters, Monica Arthur and Barbara Kresock and a grandson Sean Tenedios.
The funeral will be Monday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 46 Midland St., Simpson. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Simpson.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 6 PM. Golden Age Club will meet at 3:30 PM.
