Diane L. Perkin, 76, of Clifford Township and formerly of Welcome Lake, Wayne County where she lived for 45 years, passed away on Thursday at the Ellen Memorial Nursing Center, Honesdale. Diane passed away after suffering from Lewy Body Dementia for the past 6 years.

Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy Pellett Fletcher. She was a graduate of Waymart High School, and a past member of the Beach Lake United Methodist Church. Diane was also an active member of the Welcome Lake fire Co. Auxiliary.

Diane was a past employee of Katz Underwear Factory and was a pre-school teacher at the Beach Lake United Methodist Church for many years.  She loved being with the children and they loved being with and learning from her. Later, she was employed in the Activities Department of the Forest City Nursing Home.

Diane is survived by a sister, Linda Demianovich and husband John, Clifford Township, two nieces and Goddaughters, Kira Demianovich and partner Nick Colachino, Simpson, Tara Weaver and Husband Bobby, Clifford Township, who she was like a second mother too. Great nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Matthew, Jacob and Kamryn Holeva, Sophia and Amelia Weaver, all of whom she loved dearly.

Family and friends are welcome to visit of Thursday from 4: 00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson. A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Andrew Repenning, of the Carbondale United Methodist Church at  6:00 PM.   A Spring burial will be at Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart.
