Edward J. Debish, 87, of Harford passed away Saturday at home with family by his side.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Edward W. and Mary Harkenreader Debish.  Edward was a graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale.  He is a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale, a life Auxiliary Member of Elk Mountain Post 8488 VFW,  a life member of the American Legion and a life member of the 109th Infantry Regiment Association.

Edward’s life embarked on a long commitment to the Army National Guard, serving first for twenty- one years with the Pennsylvania National Guard followed by 15 years with the Texas National Guard reaching the rank of First Sergeant. He retired as the facilities engineer for the Texas National Guard Headquarters located at Camp Mabry, Texas.

Ed also enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his yard, playing on his mowers and tractor and he collected electric trains and coins.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bria Tinsley and her medical staff and the staff of Traditional Home Health & Hospice for their care of Edward.

He is survived by his three children, Darrell J. Debish and wife Sara, Austin, TX; Doreen Tracy and husband Bart , McKinney, TX; and Danielle Lovelace and husband Josh, Harford with whom he resided. Nine grandchildren, Brian, Tyler, Austin, Sierra, Hunter, Michael, Maelynn, Colton and Hudson, a brother, Paul Debish and wife Maryanne, Forest City and a sister, Joan Davis, Carbondale, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Castner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 8th at 10:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church St., Carbondale. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Simpson at a later date. Family and friends may visit at the church from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Danielle and Josh would like to invite family and friends to a Celebration of Life proceeding  the mass at The Beacon Bar and Grill, Union Dale.
