James “ Mouse” P. Tolerico, 68, of Mayfield died  surrounded by his family  Saturday at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia.   His wife is the former Theresa Devita, the couple had celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary in November.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Anthony & Mary McKenna Tolerico. He was a graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale and attended the University of Baltimore.  Jim had been employed in construction with Local Union #158, Harrisburg and he retired from the Gino Merli Veteran Center, Scranton.

He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Carbondale. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan.   Jim treasured spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is also survived by two sons and their wives, James Tolerico Jr. and Melissa, Mayfield; Jeffrey Tolerico and Christina, Jefferson Township; a brother Mark Tolerico and Laura, Carbondale, three grandchildren, Alexis, Jack and Aurora, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Jr.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 Am in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Interment will be in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township.  Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM.
