Obituaries » Jennie A. (Lathrope) Willis August 1, 1947 - February 13, 2018 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Jennie A. Willis, 70, of Carbondale died Tuesday at the Carbondale Nursing Home. She was the wife Of Jack Willis. They were married for 26 years. Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Antoinette Rusin Lathrope. She was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson. She had been employed prior to retirement in the finance department of Farview State Hospital and SCI Waymart. Jennie was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish and faithfully prayed the rosary. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and the game Scrabble. She was an active volunteer at St. Joseph’s Center, Scranton and the Steamtown Marathon. I, Jennie Willis would like to thank my husband Jack and cousin, Bishop Joseph Bambera for loving me unconditionally and always being by my side. I would also like to thank my dear sister, Carol who I love so much. Along with my sister and brother in laws, Helen, Margaret and Catherine you have brought me so much joy and happiness. Also, Bonnie Moore-Roberts, Maureen, Wilma, Carol, Maria, Maryanne, Sue, Andy and Mary Jo who have been like an army by my side. I would like to thank the Carbondale Nursing Home staff, especially Lynn and Dr. Matthew Haley and his wonderful Staff. I am very thankful for the Foundation for Cancer Care whom put all my worries to rest. I will miss my husband and son, Jason dearly along with my beautiful dog, Dixie. Jennie is survived by a son, Jason Pollinger, Carbondale, two daughters, Nicole and husband Kevin Feegle and three grandchildren, Chiefland, FL and Jennifer Willis, Trenton, Fl., a sister, A. Carol and husband Deacon Edwin Salva, Scott Township, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Russell D. Lathrope Jr. The funeral will be Saturday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc , 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale to be celebrated by her cousin, The Most Rev. Joseph C. Bambera, D.D. Bishop of Scranton. Spring interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Simpson. Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 pm.
