Joan Viney Bronson, 83, of Carbondale, passed away and is now in the arms of her beloved

husband, Bob Bronson, who has been waiting just beyond the moon for her since 2021, to

join him in everlasting peace. They were married for 60 years.

Joan was born and raised in Carbondale, the daughter of the late Charles and Blanche

Hopkins Viney. She was a graduate of St. Rose High School, class of 1961. She had worked

for Sugerman’s and then Gentex sewing department until retirement in 2010, with 40 years

of service.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale. Joan was very

active and enjoyed life, traveling on her Gold Wing motorcycle all over the country with her

husband, Bob, and many friends. Camping with her family, participating in any outdoor

activity, shopping on QVC, working in her flower gardens, and singing and dancing to the

likes of Aretha Franklin and Patsy Cline were some of her favorite activities. Joan was an

avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

Joan wishes to thank her neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Fox, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Burke,

as well as her niece and nephew, Christine Conigliaro, Ann Marie, and Doug Potter, for

their help throughout the years and for being there to assist when needed.

Joan is survived by a daughter, Debbie Benjamin and Husband Chris, A son, Robert J.

Bronson, and wife Lisa. Grandchildren and spouses Megan and John Beckman, Jessica

and Marcus Lemoncelli, Natasha and Gary Brower, Samantha and Jacob Klein, Calvin and

Brittany Pacholec, Bobby and Kayla Pacholec. Great-grandchildren: Ryder Bronson, Lyla,

Bryce, Ayden Beckman, Ashton, Parker, Arya Lemoncelli, Mia Joan Brower, and many

nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Mark Bronson, and several siblings.

There will be a private visitation for family and Christian service by Pastor Douglas Bowman.

Interment following cremation will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Forest City.
