Bednarczyk February 6, 1945 - December 19, 2014 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends John J. “Jake” Bednarczyk, 69, of Simpson died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. His wife is the former Andrea Dovin. Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late John B. and Anna Washeleski Bednarczyk. He was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson and served in the Navy during the Viet Nam War aboard the USS Francis Marion. He had been employed by several metal fabrication companies, most recently Metal Integrity Co., Carbondale. He was a member of St. Michael’s Church/ St Rose Parish. Jake is also survived by two sons, John A. Bednarczyk, Simpson and Dr. Robert Bednarczyk and wife Erin, Clarkston, GA; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Joseph and a sister Mary Ann Totski. The funeral will be Tuesday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc. 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 46 Midland St., Simpson. Interment with Military honors in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Simpson. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 PM.
