Joseph J. Chulvick, 60, of Moosic, peacefully passed away after ultimately losing his courageous battle with cancer at Allied Services Hospice Center in Scranton.

Born in Wilkes Barre, son of Joseph Chulvick, Pittston, and the late Monica Lutecki Chulvick who was his biggest supporter in life. He was a 1982 graduate of James M. Coughlin High School and during his time there, he won the 1981 Jackman golf tournament. Joseph was a loving father and friend who lived in the moment, actively following his passions such as golf, horse racing, baseball and spending time with his family. He spent time giving back to the community coaching at the Dunmore Little League and the Dunmore Schautz Teener League. Joseph had an impact on so many kids throughout the years, and he took pride in inspiring kids to do and be their best.  He was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish in Moosic.

More recently, you could find him at Glenmaura with his partner in life, Jacqueline Rupp- Finegan, supporting the Old Forge Blue Devil athletic baseball and basketball programs his son, Tyler (who he always called Junior), is actively involved with, or at Pocono Downs cheering on many of his beloved horses. Joseph was also known for his witty sense of humor.

The family would like to thank Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital and Allied Services Hospice Center’s staff for their tremendous support and care during this difficult time.

Also surviving is his partner, Jacqueline Rupp-Finegan of Moosic, PA; son Tyler Chulvick and daughter Kaley Chulvick of Dunmore, PA; his sister MaryJo Chulvick and husband Frank Foft of Columbus, Ohio along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his uncle Edward Lutecki who was his best friend.

Arrangements have been made by Joseph Scotchlas Funeral Home, 621 Main St., Simpson.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
