Loretta Borosky of Simpson, passed away peacefully on June 21 at the VNA Hospice unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center, with her son and daughter at her side.

She was born in Simpson, the youngest child of the late Kathryn and George Zelosko. She is now reunited in heaven with the love of her life, her husband Bernard Borosky of Forest City who passed away in 1973.

Loretta graduated Fell High School in 1953 and attended Marywood University in her later years. After marriage she raised her family in New Jersey, returning to Simpson to care for her brother, Walter a D-Day veteran of Omaha Beach, and responsible for making the final of his 91 years safe, comfortable, and dignified. In the intervening years she resided in Maryland working at and attending university of Maryland and then working as a bookkeeper and advancing to VP in a mortgage company.

Loretta was foremost a loving mother, and a unique and unstoppable force who devoted her life to the raising of her two children influencing them and anyone else she came to know and love to do the right thing, to the best of their ability. She would draw people to herself like a magnet with her positive attitude and good cheer, and leave them feeling better about themselves.

Loretta is survived by her children Kathryn Borosky, Simpson and Bernard Borosky and wife Beth, Muscle Shoals, AL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and brothers Walter, Edward, Thomas, Stanley, and sister Stasia.

The family would like to thank; the staff of VNA Hospice unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center, nursing staff and doctors caring for her on 6th floor. Dr. Barsigian and all the wonderful nurses at Hematology and Oncology of NEPA. They have all inspired us in return.

The family would also like to thank the many friends and neighbors near and far for all the compassion, love, patience, listening and support through the most difficult of times. And especially those that helped with her care by providing rides to all of her various appointments.

Her son, Bernard Borosky would like to, but will never be able to sufficiently thank his sister
Kathy, taking care of our Mother 24/7 for the last five years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:30 in St. Michael’s Church, 46 Midland Street celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Sitko. Interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Simpson. There will be no public viewing.

Arrangements from the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, 621 Main Street, Simpson.
