Lorraine M. Kolcun, 69, of Simpson died Tuesday at the Carbondale Nursing Home.

Born in Carbondale on December 27th, 1948, she was daughter of the late John and Victoria Jackovitz Kolcun. She was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson and obtained a Bachelor’s of Science  Degree in business education from Caldwell College in NJ, and received co-op certification from Temple University.

She was a business education teacher for 5 years at Irvington High School, Irvington, NJ. She also worked as a business education teacher and co-op coordinator at Wallenpaupack Area High School for 29 years. Lorraine enjoyed traveling, movies, plays, dining out and spending time with family and friends.

Lorraine is survived by two siblings, John Kolcun and wife Cathy, Scranton, Cheryl and husband Paul Wallis, Simpson,  nieces,  Richele and husband Rob Pica, Allentown,  Mary Kay and husband Adam Musyt, Lima, OH, Mallory Poremba and husband Jason, Nanticoke,  Megan and husband RJ Gardner, Scranton,a  nephew, John M. Kolcun and companion Johanna Ferrario, Moscow,  four great nephews, an uncle, aunts and cousins.

The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s church, 46 Midland St., Simpson. Friends and family may call at the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main St, Simpson on Thursday from 3-6 p.m. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Simpson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 541 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509.
