Obituaries » Margaret Kominak Chaballa May 26, 1920 - February 1, 2016 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Margaret Chaballa, 95, of Carbondale died Monday at Geisinger- CMC, Scranton. She was the widow of George “Jerry” Chaballa. Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Andrew & Sophie Kominak. She was a homemaker in her younger years and later was employed in the garment industry, retiring from Children’s Dress Co., Carbondale. Margaret was a member of St. Michael’s Church/ St. Rose Parish. She enjoyed listening to Polka’s, cooking and baking. She was famous for her “pigs in the blanket”. She is survived by two sons, George and wife Bonnie, Carbondale Township, Richard and his companion Kathy Mitchell, Carbondale, three grandchildren, Beth Chaballa, Richard Chaballa, Jr and Melissa Swartz, two great grandsons Steven and Jason Swartz. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Susan Chaballa, two brothers, Andrew J. Kominak and John Kominak and a sister Mary Kominak Keith. The funeral will be Friday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 Am in St. Michael’s Church, 46 Midland St, Simpson. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Simpson. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 Pm.
