Marlyn N. Ihlefeldt, 76, of Carbondale died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital Honesdale. She was the wife of Fred Ihlefeldt. The couple had celebrated 53 years of marriage in April.

Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd & Marjorie Miller Neimeyer.  She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and was a loving homemaker.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Carbondale and the Presbyterian Women’ Club. Marlyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Forest City Nursing Home for the compassionate care of Marlyn.

She is also survived by a son Timothy Ihlefeldt and wife Rebekah, Honesdale, two daughters Susan and husband Randy Mumford, Mayfield and Deborah and husband Jeffrey Thomas, Vandling; five grandchildren, Mitchell, Andrew and Ruth Ihlefeldt and Jessica & Matthew Mumford and 2 great grandchildren, Austin Mumford and Blake Thomas, nieces and nephews.

Marlyn was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Gibson.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Oliver Shifler & Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc  62 N. Main St., Carbondale with Services by the Rev. Wayne Wolfe, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Interment in Clifford Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call Saturday from 10 Am until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Carbondale or the Activities Department of the Forest City Nursing Home, 915 Delaware St., Forest City 18421
