Michael Francis Gorel, 76, passed away on Sunday, October 13th at home in Whites Crossing, Carbondale Township .

Born in Carbondale, on May 30, 1948,he is the son of Bernadine R. Lapka Gorel and the late Michael A. Gorel. Michael was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Lakeland High School.

Michael devoted much of his life to caring for his mother and was deeply committed to his faith. His career spanned various roles, including positions at Gentex, Specialty Records and Cinram and as a security guard at The Jewish Center, reflecting his versatility and dedication to community service.

He was a passionate football fan of the Miami Dolphins and enjoyed cooking and sharing many meals with friends and family. Michael’s life was marked by his commitment to his loved ones and his faith.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, his siblings, Theresa Comunale,  and husband Ronald,  Scott Township, Edward Gorel, Carbondale, and Rose Eskandari, Annandale, VA.  Michael also leaves behind a legacy through his nieces and nephews: Ryan and Reza Eskandari, Linda Jacobino and Renee Field, as well as several grand nieces, grand nephews and great –grandnieces and nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be Wednesday, October 23rd in  the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc. 621 Main St., Simpson with services at 11:00 AM by Pastor Terry Drost. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Simpson.   Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 22nd from 5 to 8 PM.
