Michael Krenitsky, 91, of Simpson died Sunday at the VNA Hospice Unit of Geisinger CMC, Scranton. His wife of 61 years, is the former Rita Potson.

Born in Jermyn, he was the son of the late Basil & Anna Krisa Krenitsky. He attended Archbald High School and was a proud Navy veteran of WWII. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the former Trane Co., Dunmore. He was a member of St. Michael’s Church/ St. Rose Parish, Simpson.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Michael enjoyed fishing, cruising and spending time at the casinos. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of VNA Hospice, Moses Taylor Hospital and Hematology & Oncology of NEPA for their compassionate care and kindness.

He is also survived by son, Gerald Krenitsky, two daughters, Denise Krenitsky and Michele and husband Timothy Tyson, two grandchildren Tiffany & Timothy Tyson Jr., two brothers, Basil & Joseph Krenitsky, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Jr. and Joseph, a brother, John Krentisky and three sisters, Olga Palese, Mary Zielinski and Anna Michalczyk.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St, Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 46 Midland St., Simpson. Interment with military honors will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Simpson. Friends may call Thursday from 8 :30 until 10:30 AM.
