Snedeker, 78, passed away peacefully Monday in the Hospice unit at Forest City Nursing Home. Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Milo W. and Minnie Rigby Snedeker. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and was an Army veteran. Milo was a machinist by trade and through his work career he had been employed by Interstate Shell, Fab Weld Corp., Hendrick Manufacturing Co. and Telephone Engineering Company. He was a member of St. Michael’s Church/St. Rose Parish, Simpson. He was an avid golfer and in his young years enjoyed bowling. More recently, jigsaw puzzles, trips to Longworth’s Restaurant for breakfast, helping his neighbor Amy and decorating the North Hi-Rise for Christmas brought him enjoyment. Milo was a loving father and grandfather who spent his retirement helping others. The family would like to thank Dr. Matthew Haley and staff, the staff at Forest City Nursing Home, Home Health Care Professionals/Hospice, Hematology and Oncology Associates and Delta Medix for their compassionate care for Milo. He is survived by a daughter Denise and husband Ken Bolcavage, Crystal Lake, three sons Gary Snedeker, and Randy Snedeker and wife Christy, all of Simpson and Joseph Snedeker and wife Dawn, Scott Township, eight grandchildren, Edward Jr., Ashley, Brittany, Hayley, Joseph, Lucas, Aleah and Abagail, a sister in law, Helen Snedeker and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Danko Snedeker, two brothers, Oscar and Albert and a sister Margaret Pochas. The funeral will be Saturday from the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 46 Midland St., Simpson. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Simpson with military services. Friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM.
