White, 62, of Duryea and formerly of Simpson died Monday at hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Nelson T. and Stella Lehutsky White. Neil was a 1981 graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Carbondale. He had been employed by the Doyle & Roth Co., Simpson and then Keystone Landfill, Dunmore. Neil spent nearly 20 years as a youth football coach to the Carbondale Blitz/ Jr. Chargers. He was a diehard Notre Dame & Philadelphia Phillies Fan which he enjoyed watching with his most loyal companion, Buddy the bulldog. Neil is survived by his two sons, Stephen and Charles White, both of Carbondale, his three siblings, Thomas White and wife Kathleen, Childs, Carol Tolerico, Moosic and Amy White, Taylor, a sister-in-law, Mindy White, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and John White, two sisters, Rita Mason and Joy White. A Blessing Service will be Friday at 7:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Philip Sladicka, in the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc. 621 Main St., Simpson. There will be a visitation on Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
