Nellie G. Cavage, 95, of Whites Crossing, Carbondale Township died Tuesday evening at Regional Hospital of Scranton.  She is the widow of Joseph F. Cavage, who died in 1992.

Born in Whites Crossing, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Gandera Rames. She was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson. Nellie was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale.

Nellie had been employed in several garment manufacturing shops in the Carbondale area prior to retirement. She also loved being a homemaker and raising their three sons. Some of Nellie’s other enjoyments were traveling, skiing, Polka music and she was a pilot and soloed in her family plane.

Nellie is survived by her three sons, Joseph and wife Barbara, Whites Crossing, Richard, Whites Crossing and David wife Julie, Wellsboro, two grandsons, Mark and wife Veronica and Christopher and wife Sabrina and a great-grandson, Ian, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings, Victoria, Anna, Frank, Joseph, John, Mary and Helen.

The funeral will be Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Interment will be in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township.  Family and friends may visit at the church Saturday from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105
