Phoebe Anne Britt, 81 of Benton township died Monday at Geisinger- CMC, Scranton. She follows her husband of 57 years, Thomas R. Britt, Sr. who passed on August 17, 2012.

Born in Springbrook, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Esther & Finn Abrahamsen. She graduated Augustana Academy in Canton, S.D. and had two main careers in her lifetime. She enjoyed her summers off as a school bus driver and worked at the Long Island Lighting Company where she met her late husband. She came to Pennsylvania upon her retirement at age 57 and her grandchildren were her greatest joy during this time.

Phoebe was an accomplished pianist and had a lifelong passion for fitness and helping others.

She is survived by her son Thomas R. Britt Jr and wife Sakina, Farmingville, NY and their children Anais and Chad, a daughter Pamela and husband Al Munoz, Westbury, NY, a daughter Sondra and husband Glenn Holmes, Dalton and their children Kyle, Eric and Colin.

Phoebe was the last of her siblings Arne, David, Philip and Louise.

Private service will be conducted by the family. Arrangements are by the Oliver Shifler & Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., Carbondale.
