Robert Martin Dilts, 59, of Carbondale died Thursday at home.

Born on March 11, 1955, he was the son of the late Bailey M. and Mary Van Nort Dilts. He served in the Army where he earned a cargo handlers certificate at Ft. Eustis, VA in 1972.  Bob was employed by Brojack Lumber prior to retiring due to kidney disease and later receiving a kidney transplant.

He was a devoted son to his mother until her passing in December 2014. He enjoyed fishing with friends over the years and the company of his beloved pets Astro, Trex and Girl.   Bob was a kind and gentle person who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bob’s kidney donation was a true blessing. It gave him 27 additional years of life.  The family encourages all to consider organ donation- Give the Gift of Life.

Surviving are two sisters and their husbands, Rhoda and Francis Konosky and Mary and Mark Mullen and a brother Bailey Dilts, several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, March 7th at 2:00 Pm in the First United Methodist Church, Church St., Carbondale by the Rev. Donald Perry.  Interment will be at a later date in Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.
