Rosendo Gautier-Ruiz, 59 of Simpson died Thursday at Geisinger-CMc, Scranton. His wife of 40 years is the former Sharon A. Blackmon.

Born in Catalina, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Rosendo Gautier, Sr and Ann Luis Ruiz. He graduated school in Puerto Rico then entered the Navy where he served as a Seaman 2 nd class.

Rosendo had been employed by Eastman Kodiak, Manhattan, Tobyhanna Army Depot, BAE Systems, Jermyn and most recently by The P.A. Hutchinson Co., Mayfield. He attended the Parker Hill Community Church, Dickson City Campus and was a member of the Paciga V.F. W. Post # 4712, Simpson.

Rosendo was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and he had a love and respect for his country.

Also surviving are his children, Ricardo Powell and wife Tiwana, Carbondale, Anatalia and husband Keith Macik, Fairfax, VA., Rosendo Gauthier and companion Mandy Pearson, Carbondale and Nicollette Gauthier, Simpson, two brothers, Luis Gauthier-Ruiz, Staten Island, NY, and Hiussamn Gauthier-Ruiz, Boston, four grandchildren, De’Angelo and Itiona Powell, Levith Gauthier and Aldrick Macik.

The funeral service will be Monday at 8:00 Pm in the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson with Pastor Paul McGuinness, presiding, followed by military honors.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 PM. Guests are required to wear masks and social distance.
