Ruth M. Dukerich, 75, formerly of Clifford died Tuesday at Mallard Meadows Care Center, Waymart after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late William & J. Pauline Prudish Horton. She was a graduate of Harford High School. She had been employed by General Dynamics and Gentex Corp. prior to retirement.

Ruth enjoyed Cross Stitching, gardening, cooking and was awaiting the arrival of the Humming Birds. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Mallard Meadows Care Center and Home Health Care Professionals and Hospice.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Charles Dukerich and Karen, Scranton, David Dukerich and Dawn, Clifford, a daughter Kelly and husband Paul Williams, Herrick Center, eight grandchildren, Suzanne, Julie, David, Rosemary, Nicole, Makayla, Cullen and Colton, a brother Charles Horton, Clifford, two sisters, Jane Strickland, Dickson City and Johanna Flynn, Vandling, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 AM in the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc  621 Main St., Simpson with service by Rev. Jack Munley.  Interment will be in Clifford Valley Cemetery.

Friends may call today (Wednesday)  from 5 to 8 PM and Thursday morning from 9:30 until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
