Steven Bucci passed away peacefully on Saturday in Scranton, PA at the age of 59.

Steven is survived by his children Tony and Danielle, his brother Michael, sister-in-law Cynthia, and close friend Gail Nudelman. He is preceded in death by  his parents John and Carmen, his brother John and his stepfather Charles Saar.

Steven was born on March 6, 1961 in Brooklyn, New York to John Michael Bucci and Carmen Saar. Upon completing the program at Thaddeus Stevens Technical School in 1982, he quickly began building the skills he needed to become the successful owner and operator of Bucci Construction. After moving to Pleasant Mount, Steven was married to Charrisse and quickly embraced fatherhood, welcoming their children Danielle and Tony. Steven’s children were one his proudest accomplishments and a significant motivation for continued growth throughout his life.

Steven was an avid outdoorsman, as well as, an accomplished carpenter. He was generous with his skills, often lending a hand to help friends and family with projects in their homes. He was a kind, warm and funny individual who despite struggling with personal problems throughout the years was passionate about helping others battle addiction and inspiring change in his community. His recent achievement of twenty years sobriety is a testament to his perseverance and the ability in all of us to be better than our past.

A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday 07/22/2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main St. Simpson with private services to follow at a later date.
