Obituaries » Thomas E Wargo February 24, 1965 - January 23, 2021 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends On Saturday, January 23rd, Thomas Wargo passed away suddenly at his home in Covington Township. This has been his home for nearly 20 years. Tommy was born on February 24, 1965, at St. Joseph’s Center, Scranton. Due to his disabilities, he remained at the Main Center for several years. In 1976, he moved to White Haven Center and eventually returned to St. Joseph’s in 2001. During this time, Tommy participated in Saint Joseph’s Center Adult Day Services at Blakely Street. Tommy passed into eternal life in the same manner in which he lived, gently and selflessly. Some of Tommy’s favorite activities were going for rides, even more so, if the destination was a pet store where he enjoyed petting animals. At the Day Program, Tommy enjoyed the swing. He liked sensory and tactile objects and individual attention with a caring staff person sitting alongside. Tommy smiled generously especially in response to having his head rubbed. It is a unique privilege that Saint Joseph’s Center provided a safe and loving home as his earthly life began and now ends. A visitation with service to follow will begin Thursday at 1:00 PM in the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson. Masks and social distancing rules will be followed. A spring interment will be in Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Township.
