Obituaries » Thomas F. Schultz September 17, 1939 - November 30, 2025 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Thomas F. Schultz, 86, of Waymart died Sunday evening at home. He was preceded in death by two wives, Joy Jeanette Eldred, in 1985 and Catherine Falong in 2024. Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Willis and Helen Dolph Schultz. Tom was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, attended Penn State University and served in the Army. Throughout his life he was employed as a machinist, for Hendrick Manufacturing, Carbondale and retiring from Tobyhanna Army Depot. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He is survived by a daughter, Laura Schultz ( Paul Capell), a son, Frederick Schultz, a step-daughter, Patty Shaffer, 2 grandchildren, Amanda and Ashley, a sister, Lucille Zadjackowski. Tom was also preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Schultz and a sister, Jean Beach. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Joseph W Scotchlas funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson. Interment will be in the Jermyn Cemetery. Family & friends may visit on Saturday from 12:30 PM until 2 PM.
