Veronica L. Wasnock, 95, formerly of Simpson died Friday night at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of Lawrence J. Wasnock, who died in 2006.
Born in Simpson, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Anna Mehalco Tarhanich. She attended school in Fell Township and had been employed by the Gentex Corp., Simpson.
She was a member of St. Rose/St Michael’s Church and was an active member of the former Holy Trinity Church. Veronica was also a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Guild, and the Fell Township Golden Age Club. She loved spending time and being with her great grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City with her husband and the Polka’s.
Veronica is survived by a son Valentine Wasnock and wife Ann, Carbondale; a grandson, Lawrence V. Wasnock and wife Jennifer, Langhorne and two great grandchildren, Jordan Pierce and Aiden Christopher, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Thomas, John and Michael Tarhanich, six sisters, Mamie, Barbara and Elizabeth Tarhanich, Anna Horhutz, Rose Zurine and Kathryn Peskowsky.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 46 Midland St.,Simpson. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Simpson. Friends may call Tuesday from 9- 10AM.
