Lisa A. Plevyak-Suchniak, 44, of Carbondale died Tuesday at the VNA Hospice Unit of Geisinger CMC, Scranton. Her husband is William Suchnick.
Born in Carbondale, she is the daughter of James P. Plevyak, Starlight and the late Shirley Hunt Plevyak. She was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School. Lisa had been employed by GW Instruments, Carbondale; Fresno’s Restaurant, Alexander’s Restaurant and The Woodland Inn. However, her most cherished title was MOM.
Lisa was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She enjoyed spending time with her son Austin and his friends, never missing a baseball game. She could often be found with her family and many friends whom she loved. She enjoyed shopping. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister who will be deeply missed.
She is also survived by her son, Austin William Suchniak, at home; a brother James R. Plevyak Jr and wife Lisa, Browndale; a sister Michele H. Plevyak and husband Steve Bossick, Starlight, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be Friday from the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Interment in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 PM.
