Willis H. Arthur, 92, of Simpson died Tuesday at Creekside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carbondale. His wife of 35 years is the former Helen Regal-Arthur.
Born in Burnwood, Ararat Township; he was the son of the late Willis & Reba Arthur, Sr. He was a dairy farmer for many years and later was employed in the Optics Division of Gentex Corp, Simpson. Willis enjoyed fishing and gardening and was fond of his winter employment at a local Christmas tree farm.
The family would like to thank the staff of Creekside Nursing Center for their compassionate and kind care of Willis.
He is also survived by two sons and their wives, Donald and Lynda Arthur, Uniondale; Harold “Chip” and Linda Arthur, So. Gibson; a daughter Betty Jean and husband Arnold Carey, New Milford; a step –son, Peter and wife Jerilyn Regal, Simpson; a step-daughter, Dr. Laura and husband T.J. Shrestha, Vienna, VA.; a brother, Clifford Arthur, Binghamton; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Marcho, three sons, Robert, Hollis and Terry and an infant daughter, Reba.
The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 PM in the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St., Simpson with services by Rev. Sharon Dietz. Interment at a later date in Ararat Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
