Lillian Mae Kulick, 91, of Edgewater, MD, died peacefully at home on Saturday surrounded by her son and four daughters. She was the widow of Harry Kulick, whom she married at St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Forest City on the 10th of May 1952.
Born in Richmondale, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Peskura, née Brindock. She was a graduate of Fell Township High School in Simpson, Class of 1948.
She is survived by five children: Denise Kulick and her husband, Steven Lepse, of Virginia Beach, VA; Saundra Doyle and her husband, Ronald, of Gambrills, MD; Gregory Kulick and his wife, Tammy, of Davidsonville, MD; Corrinne Kulick Bendt and her husband, Daniel Bendt, of Upper Marlboro, MD; and Eileen “Jacky” Lengenfelder and her husband, David, of Crofton, MD. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Lillian was preceded in death by her oldest son, Kenneth Kulick, and her seven older siblings: Marie Roesch, Anna Dunaj, Helen Mayket, Susan Mikloiche, George “Butch” Peskura, Celia Cebular, and Marguerite Witkowski.
Lillian was an active and social member of her community. She was a member of the Columbia Ski Club, DC Hand Dance Club, Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary and the AHA Ladies Lunch Bunch. She was also granted a lifetime membership to Club Crabtowne for her exceptional and continuous service. She traveled extensively, from Europe to Asia, Australia to Alaska. Though homebound during the pandemic, she made the best of it by reading 52 books in her last year.
Lillian was a vibrant hostess, impeccable dresser, first-rate dancer, masterful gardener, legendary thrifter, passionate golfer, inspired baker, world-class traveler, and a kick-ass mother! She will be missed by all.
The funeral will be Saturday with Divine Liturgy at 11:00 AM in S.S. Peter & Paul Greek Catholic Church,43 Rittenhouse St., Simpson by the Rev. Myron Myronyuk. Spring interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Richmondale. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 Pm at the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson. Masks are required and Social Distancing rules will be followed.
