James M. Curyk, 76, of Simpson died Wednesday at Geisinger- Community Medical Center, Scranton. Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Michael and Elizabeth Reby Curyk. He was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson and Mansfield University. Jim was employed prior to retirement as a teacher in the Troy Area School District. He was a member of the former Holy Trinity Church, now St. Rose Parish, Carbondale. Jim was a caretaker in the lives of his parents and retired early to care for his dad. He also enjoyed keeping contact with former students and facility from Troy. He is survived by two sisters and their husbands, Jerilynn Regal and Peter, Simpson and Debby Andidora and Jim, Carbondale, five nieces and nephews, Michele Coleman and husband E.J., John Regal, Jim and Jason Addidora and Shari Dulski. His special friends who the family wants to thank, Mickey Ameigh and Ashley Verrill. The funeral will be Wednesday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 46 Midland St., Simpson.
