Mindas, 70, of Carbondale died Friday at Geisinger- CMC, Scranton. His wife, the former Barbara Kinney, died in 2010. Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Joann Corrigan Mindas, Sr. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Bernard retired from Tobyhanna Army Depot. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his three children, Bernard Mindas, Jr., Jessica Mindas and Brian Mindas, all of Carbondale, two granddaughters, Ashley and Carly Mindas, two sisters, Mary Ann Frisbie, Carbondale, Barbara Bishop, Richmondale and a brother, Kevin Mindas, South Carolina, nieces and nephews. Bernard was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas. In accordance with his wishes, Bernard will be cremated.
