Descoteaux, 72, of Carbondale died Monday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband, Leo Descoteaux, died in 2018. Born in Blakely, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine MacKarell McHugh. Diane was a graduate of Ansonia Connecticut High School. She had been employed as a Hearing Impaired Interpreter and for the past ten years by Telespond, Carbondale. Diane was an avid artist painter and enjoyed crafts. She would help anyone in need and will be missed by her family. She is survived by a daughter Wendy Minor and husband Joseph, a son, David Descoteaux, all of Carbondale, four grandchildren, Joseph III and Seth Minor, Justin Brower and Destiny Descoteaux, four great grandchildren, two sisters, Kathryn Shaw and Elizabeth Scanlon, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Lynady and a brother, John McHugh. A Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, at 7:00 PM in the Oliver Shifler & Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 62 N. Main St., Carbondale.
