Dolores C. Gillott, 86, of Carbondale died Sunday at home. She and her husband, Patrick J. Gillott, would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 11th.

Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Elizabeth Salley Pecko. Dolores was a graduate of St. Rose High School and Lackawanna College, Scranton.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed by Farview State Hospital, Waymart and then the Carbondale Area School District. Dolores was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Carbondale.

Her family was her life and spending time with her children and grandchildren was very important to her. She also enjoyed trips to the casino with her friends, Gloria, Mary Ann and Frannie.

She is survived by her two sons, Patrick Gillott and wife Catherine, Carbondale and Michael Gillott and fiancée Ann Marie Stevens, Carbondale, four grandchildren, Lora Marie Rosenburger and husband Glenn Anthony, Joseph P. (JP) Gillott, Megan Williams and husband Geoffrey and Maureen Gillott, two step-grandchildren, Thomas Landers and Ashley Clifford, six great grandchildren, Katelyn and Abigail Rosenburger, Jaxon Gillott, Elle, Logan, Gavin Williams and 4  step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A special thank you for the compassionate care of Theresa Micknick, PA, the staff of Dr Tamarat Bekele and the staff from Home Health Care Professional Hospice.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph J Pecko.

The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook St., Carbondale. Interment will be in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township. Those attending the mass are asked to proceed directly to the church.

Family and Friends may call upon the family on Wednesday from 5 to 8 Pm at the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson.

In lieu, of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, C/O 6 N. Church St., Carbondale, or Home Health Care Professional Hospice, 520 Burke Bypass, Olyphant, or the donor’s favorite charity.
