Dorothy Mae Jones, 83, of Crozet, VA. and formerly of Simpson died Sunday at Piedmont Hospice, Charlottesville, VA.   She was the wife of John “Jack” Jones, who died in July. They were married for 52 years.

Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Julia Yakubik Runco. She was educated in the Clifford Public schools. She was employed by Ship ‘N Shore, Forest City and Gentex Corp., Simpson. She was also a waitress for a while.

Dorothy was of the Catholic faith and attended Ascension Parish, Forest City with her husband. She enjoyed long rides in the country, fishing, feeding the hummingbirds, shopping and eating out.

The family would like to thank UVA Hospital, UVA Encompass Health & Rehabilitation Hospital, Monroe Health & Rehabilitation, Hospice of the Piedmont, Charlottesville, VA for the care that mom received.

She is survived by seven children,, Debbie Orme, Crozet, VA , Donna Fry and husband Michael, Conway, SC., Andy Cosklo, Davenport. FL., Terry Jones-Hornung and husband Andy, South Canaan, Kathy Jones-Zawistowski and husband John, Jermyn, Dave Jones and wife Pam and Jay Jones all of Thompson. 14 grandchildren, several  great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Julie.

Interment will take place at a later date in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp., PA.

Arrangements are by the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., Simpson.
