His wife of 42 years is the former Laura Lorenzo. Born in Carbondale, the son of Stella Snigar Cookson, Waymart and the late Alfred Cookson. He was a graduate of Forest City High School. Ed had served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and had been employed by the Gentex Corp and Simplex Homes. Ed is also survived by four children, Stacey and Justin of Pleasant Mount, Shannon and partner Ursula of Scranton and Kyle and wife Brittany of Carbondale, three grandchildren, Kylah “Bum I”, Liam “Bum II” and Chayse, a sister, Lois Zeshonski, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Alfred, David, Robert and Charles and a sister Mary Gorel. Private funeral services will be held with arrangements by the Joseph W.
