Elizabeth “Betty “ Pisarcik, 99 of Simpson died Wednesday November 30 at Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the widow of Paul E. Pisarcik who died August 17, 1999. They were married September 23,1944.
Betty was born June 16, 1923 in Forest City and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Moraski Baranowski. She was a graduate of Forest City High School.
Betty was a past member of Fell Twp. Senior Citizens, the Simpson Ladies Auxiliary, and numerous church and civic organizations. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making crafts and jewelry. She was a member of St. Michael’s/St. Rose Parish.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Stepien and husband Jack, Scott Twp. and Kathy Wisniewski and husband Ron, Kissimmee, FL. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Scott Wisniewski and wife Brandi, of Mesa, AZ and Sarah Calachino and husband Tim of St. Augustine FL.
Betty was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her grandchildren were the happiness in her life and she loved them dearly and was very proud of them.
She was preceded in death by four sisters all of Forest City, Lottie Zielinski, Stella Baranowski, , Dorothy Fives and Jean Statkun and two brothers Joseph Baranowski , Childs and Francis Baranowski, Forest City and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Carbondale Nursing and Rehab, for the wonderful care given to Betty over the past years and also to Hospice of the Sacred Heart for her care over the past month.
Memorial contributions in Betty’s name can be made to Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Activities Department, 10 Hart Place, Carbondale, PA 18407.
The funeral will be held Friday December 9th at 10:00 am with Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael’s Church 46 Midland Street, Simpson . Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Forest City. Visitation will be held at the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home,  621 Main Street, Simpson from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45am.
