White, 96, of Carbondale died Monday. She was the widow of Milton R. White, who died in 2000. The couple had been married for 55 years when he passed. Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Margaret Daniels Ransom. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. Gladys had been employed in several dress factories prior to her retirement. She was a former active member of both the First Presbyterian Church, Carbondale and St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, Hudson, Fl. Gladys enjoyed painting and crocheting. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their care of Gladys.. She is survived by four children, Daniel White and wife Helen, Womelsdorf, Karen and husband Donald Kohan, Belleville, FL, Terrance White and wife Lynnae, Carbondale and James White and wife Dixie, Candor, NY, nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. Gladys was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Keough. Funeral services will be conducted in Florida.
