Obituaries » Helen L. (Walicki) Regal-Arthur March 11, 1926 - October 31, 2021 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Helen L. Regal-Arthur, 95, of Simpson passed away peacefully on Sunday. She was preceded in death by two husbands, John Regal and Willis Arthur. Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Tekla Malinowski Walicki. Helen started work in retail at an early age, and spoke fondly of her memories of working at the A & P Grocery Store. However, most of her career was spent as a teller at the Community National Bank in Simpson where she worked until her 70th birthday. Helen will be remembered as being stylish, and a lifelong loyal customer of the local “beauty parlor”. Family members smile at the memory of Helen’s visit to Disney, where she was perhaps the only guest to have ever taken a tube ride on the lazy river without getting her hair wet. Helen loved to entertain and to cook and bake for large groups of family and friends-whether hosting a Thanksgiving feast , a summer fish fry at Spruce Lake, or taking the chill out of a crisp autumn day with her homemade soup. She also excelled at preparing traditional Polish foods and Christmas cookies. Her pecan tassies were family favorites. Helen could be found frying pierogis at the annual church picnic. The family would like to thank Ashley Verrill, Jim Curyk, Marie and Joe Dragwa and Joy Smith for their love, friendship and support and a special thank you to Linwood Nursing Center for their care of Helen.
